We will assure strict adherence to Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

Wilson Contracts Ltd has a duty to ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and will do so as follows:
No member of Wilson Contracts Ltd employees shall:

1. Report for duty while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

2. Consume Alcohol or Drugs while on duty.

For the purpose of these standards on drugs means screening for –

The presence of drugs, other than medication which does not affect the work performance.

For the purpose of managing Alcohol and Drugs whilst working on Wilson Contracts Project, the following standards will apply and be fully briefed to all operatives on first day inductions:

o Wilson Contracts Ltd reserves the right to request all employees who may be required to work on Rail Track Infrastructure have proof of negative drugs screening.

o Wilson Contracts Ltd reserves the right to detect the use of Alcohol and Drugs at the commencement of and during duty.

o Wilson Contracts Ltd reserves the right to carry out tests for Alcohol and Drugs on persons involved in safety critical incidents.

o Wilson Contracts Ltd reserves the right to carry out unannounced drugs testing of at least 5% of employees engaged on Safety Critical tasks annually.

o Wilson Contracts Ltd reserves the right to carry out For Cause testing on any relevant person whose behaviour gives cause to suspect that they are unfit for work due to the effects of Drugs and/or Alcohol.

o Wilson Contracts Ltd reserves the right to carry out For Cause testing for accidents and incidents where reasonable grounds to suspect that safety has been compromised through the consumption of Drugs and/or Alcohol. Both procedures for Cause Testing prevents any person tested from carrying out work until a negative result has been confirmed.

o This procedure will be carried out through an approved D&A Testing provider.
